Whenever anyone would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up, Angela had her answer ready: someone who worked hands-on with animals. She’s been passionate about pet care ever since she can remember! That’s why she decided to become a veterinary professional. Now, Angela is a proud member of Small Animal Hospital’s Veterinary Assistant team.
Angela is originally from Mexico but grew up right here in Fort Myers, Florida. After searching for a program in which to study veterinary technology, she stumbled across Cape Coral Technical College—Angela knew right away that she had found her calling.
Brigitte was surrounded by animals growing up, and she’s always felt an innate passion for their care and well-being. For her, a career in animal medicine simply made sense. Now, Brigitte is living her dream—she gets to care for pets hands-on as a part of a team of animal-lovers just like herself!
Brigitte is originally from New Jersey and worked in the administrative field for more than 10 years. She moved to Florida in 2017 and attended Cape Coral Technical College to study animal care, completing an internship at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife in Sanibel during her coursework, and was then referred to Small Animal Hospital in the spring of 2018. Brigitte has been a part of the clinic family ever since!
Ever since she was a little girl, Angelique always knew she wanted to work with animals. She grew up surrounded by wildlife in Illinois. As a child her family had six cats and three dogs, she would also foster cats who needed a home. Angelique entered the veterinary field accouple of years ago; she started her journey in shelter medicine which solidified her passion for working with animals an she then found an interest in general practice. Angelique joined our team in February 2023!
Kylie was surrounded by a variety of animals while growing up on a farm, and she was adamant that she wanted to work as a veterinarian when she grew up. Since graduating from her undergraduate, Kylie has been gaining more experience working in veterinary clinics! Kylie joined our team in July 2023, and has grown tremendously since! Kylie joined the team as a kennel assistant but has started her journey training as a Veterinary Assistant! Kylie has currently applied to veterinary school, and she should be hearing back very soon!
Jennifer always knew she wanted to work with animals and was able to make her goal a reality when she was offered a job. Jennifer started here in 2023 as a kennel tech, and has since grown her skills and knowledge, and is now a receptionist here at the clinic. Jennifer loves getting to care for our clients and their pets and hopes to continue to grow her hands-on experience!
Fishard, Small Animal Hospital’s bearded dragon, joined our team in March of 2023. The manager at the time gave the staff permission to get a pet fish, however the staff had other plans in mind. The team loved the idea of having a bearded dragon as a pet as they had previous positive experiences with them.
