Your Comfort

Speaking of naps, does your furball manage to take up the entire bed while relegating you to a sliver on the edge? We’re thinking that many of you would say yes. That’s pretty much purr for the course.

Manners

Fluffy can be quite cuddly and affectionate, which helps to explain why she can quickly melt our hearts. She can also be extremely temperamental, and is a bit prone to biting or scratching without notice. Your feline friend may also have a tendency to start cleaning herself in the middle of the room. Your Houseplants

Many cats enjoy sniffing and eating green leaves. Fluffy looks super cute peeping out from behind plants at her humans while pretending to be a scary predator! 

Plants provide enrichment for cats. Just being able to smell and taste leaves will provide stimulation for your cat. Furthermore, staring out through the vegetation allows your cute pet to channel her inner tigress. Just be sure to prioritize your kitty’s safety. You should also be careful about how you organize your plants. Your cute little pet may play with the dangling part of the macrame holder, potentially causing the plant to fall. Keep heavier pots at ground level.

Your Furniture

Kitties excel at putting themselves at ease. Fluffy is not afraid to drape herself over the back of the sofa or perch on the table and clean herself. She is also not too shy to use your couch or chair to do her nails.

Don’t get upset with your furball for these errors! Your feline companion is not attempting to harm your belongings on purpose; she is simply innately driven to keep her nails sharp. This makes total sense. After all, cats rely on their nails to survive in nature. In fact, Fluffy’s primary mode of defense is her paw daggers. They also let her climb to safety, catch her supper, and write kitty graffiti on tree trunks.

Your Plans

Have you ever been awakened by a hangry kitty? These little furballs take their morning meals seriously! (Fluffy is also quite serious about second breakfast, but that’s another story.) Of course, cats can sometimes wake up their people in the middle of the night by pouncing on their toes.

If your feline friend becomes rowdy and lively when you’re attempting to sleep, try playing with her before bed. After a vigorous play session, your furball will most likely be exhausted and in need of another nap.

Fido

Fido and Fluffy’s relationship has been difficult throughout the years, with many ups and downs. In some cases, they’ve become quite close. It’s always endearing to see a nice, tolerant dog allowing a kitten to leap on his tail or sleep on his back. Of course, things can get a little tense at times. While the dog is often the attacker, the kitty is occasionally the bully! Fluffy also has no problem snatching dogs’ beds.

While many things have returned to pre-pandemic norms or settled into post-pandemic norms, one thing we don’t anticipate changing is the usage of video conferencing, especially for business. We don’t have a precise tally of how many of our feline patients have crashed their owners’ Zoom calls or trodden on their laptops, but it’s probably safe to assume that the figure isn’t zero.

Of course, cats do occasionally assist their owners while working. If you work from home, your kitty could be a terrific coworker … even if she does occasionally wander across your keyboard. Think about it: Fluffy is an adorable little cheerleader, and is also great at stress relief! We recommend using a short screen lock period, such as 15 seconds. This will help lessen the likelihood that every time you walk away, you will return to find your furry buddy has wreaked havoc on whatever you were working on.

However, we have not yet managed to successfully explain to Fluffy that proper veterinary care would not only make her considerably healthier, but would also make her more comfortable and, ultimately, happier.

Having said that, we recommend that all cats be microchipped, spayed or neutered, and up to date on vaccines, checkups, and parasite management. Cats are extraordinary for a number of reasons. They are not only adorable and personable, but they are also very amusing. Cats are interesting because of their ability to jump, bend, and twist. Fluffy performs some spectacular gymnastics! We know that cats’ skeletal structure allows them to be extremely flexible. However, we have to question some of their bold gymnastics! There’s also the fact that these small balls of fur can sleep comfortably in positions traditionally associated with knots.

Local Wildlife 

Kitties are noted for their hunting abilities. We initially befriended them because of their ability to catch rodents and other vermin. Fluffy, on the other hand, does not simply kill for food. She actually enjoys it! While it’s wonderful to see how delighted your furry buddy is when she puts a dead mouse at your feet, you should be wary. Our feline buddies turn out to be lovely little murderous killers. Each year, housecats destroy billions of small animals. Given the number of threatened or endangered species, there is clearly cause for concern here. We recommend keeping your furry little murderess indoors and feeding her catnip mice to hunt instead of real ones.
